First Timers

I was a marathon virgin back in January 2009 when I ran my first 26.2. Many of us have gotten a late start with this running thing, and that’s not just okay, that’s incredible.

Today, my article entitled, “Run Your First Marathon, I Dare You” is up on Athleta.  Check it out HERE.

We create our limitations by even considering something is not possible. Don’t entertain impossibility even for a moment. Success, accomplishment and rewards are all yours for the taking. My big self told me so.

Case in point. I never thought I could get my legs over my head this way, but I did.

But seriously, perfect timing on your post. I really want to work on speed, and find myself saying, "but I've never been able to run that fast before...." Must.Work.On.New.Mindset.

  12. Awesome story. Thank you.

On a side note, I have to admit that I tried to do that position.

Not even close. I think I can run a marathon eventually, but I don't think I can ever bend my body that way.

  15. Love the article! Funnily enough, using "only" in front of ridiculously long runs made me realize I actually *was* a runner. This past weekend was ONLY 29km!

I sincerely hope that who ever you convinced to be your legs didn't let one go on the back of your head. :p
