People tend to over estimate what they can achieve in the short term, and under estimate on the long term.<br /><br />For Ultramarathons you have to have a little more flexibility with your goal setting, and factor that in with the specifics (if that's possible).<br /><br />I did a posting on goal setting a while back if you're interested.
