Barrel of Laughs

Remember this disgusting picture from last week? (Before)

P1100615

Redemption is mine. (After)

P1100616

Taper time is great for cleaning, eating, drinking, sleeping, weeding, and picking things (scabs, etc). Anything to stave off the nerves.

I’m going to be honest. There is at least one (but probably 101) annoying things about being married to me.

My closet:P1100617

Ken’s closet:

P1100618

Do you hog the closet space in your relationship? Obviously, yes, I do.

Are you annoying to be in a relationship with? I think I am. Ken is very patient, laid-back and relaxed, where I am Type A, a worrier and controlling. I think it is probably harder for him to live with me, then me to live with him.  I can be a barrel of laughs, though!

PENIS!! (see, you laughed, didn’t you?)

  1. My "BOSS" has a walk in closet room that I did for her.....I have about the same space as ken.

As far as relationships go, the sooner people realize I'm right, the happier we all are...hahahaha

  2. You can come to my house if you still need to clean!:)

  3. I'm pretty sure I'm total nightmare to be in a relationship with (hence the name). G is very laid back and rarely gets upset about anything. Me? I cry and scream on a regular basis. Isn't he lucky?

  4. I am definitely a closet hog! Now you have me thinking I could move hubs to the spare room closet and hog the ENTIRE walk-in!

  5. Holy productivity! When I have free time I usually lay on the couch and read, I never organize. Which brings me to your question-- YES, I am difficult to be in a relationship with. I am messy, I hate taking out the garbage and when I wash the dishes I always leave the silverware for Ang to wash. I refuse to wash it.

I also have a serious gas problem and I think Angela is starting to resent my butthole.

  6. Would you believe that I am sitting in the middle of my closet room (the room with the clothes of the entire family - I don't have a "room of my own") and it is so much worse than your before picture. Procrastinating then the internet god brings me a kick in the butt via your blog: Shut Up and Clean.

  7. I would KILL for a closet that big! I have such a small closet that I need an extra dresser and then wire shelves in my room just to contain all my clothes. It's like my entire bedroom is my closet! It's all organized, but it's still a LOT of stuff (and I actually DO wear it all!)

  8. Spike's portion of the closet spills over in to mine and he has twice as many shoes as me. I'm def not the closet hog in my relationship but I have so many OCD habits I'm probably annoying to share a closet with. Does anyone else color code their closet and arrange items in each color from tanks to long sleeves? :)

  9. Penises always make me laugh...

  11. Ha! We are the opposite in a way. Our walk-in closet is my husband's cl-office. All of our clothes that need hanging are crammed into one of the kids' closets. Neither of us wear things that get hung up very often. Crammed in a drawer or in a box or , heck, just pulled out of the hamper is working over here :P

Of course I am annoying to be in a relationship with. But I am also really fun and I work really hard. So I think it's worth the annoyance. Sounds a little like your situation.

  12. I think I have at least 3/4ths of the closet I share with the other half now. I also store some things in his drawers of his dresser. You can never have enough storage space for clothes, shoes, and purses!

  13. I am a pill to live with but only if you just can't accept me for the simple routine person I am.

Morgan, yes everytime we are @ the VA house (where hubbs is through the week) I color and length and type sort and organize his closets. They look so beautiful when I am done!

  14. You're such a busy littel bee. That's what i do during taper. I def hog the closets.

  15. Ha! Love it. I'm a closet hog too. Taper is treating you well!

  16. We opted for a three-bedroom house to rent, just so that I could have a room to get dressed in.. Ok, that sounds elitist and not true, but that's how the cookie crumbled. I'm type-A all the way, and proud of it!

  17. I read "penis" and literally laughed out loud. And I'm older than 7. Oh dear!

  18. I have a nice big walk in closet and Matt shares a closet with my 11 year old son. I am a horrid person, he is amazing! The other night he came hom and told the kids they had to go to bed early. He said he had picked out a movie for us to watch that he picked out with me in mind. We watched Saint Ralph, and it was beautiful and perfect! It's about a 14 year old that runs Boston. If you haven't seen it you should check it out!

  19. You know I prb should have been taking all these before and after photos because I've been cleaning like mad!

  20. I'm a complete closet hog - it's about a 75/25 split (at best)! And I'm sure I'm a pain in the butt to live with cause my hubs sounds like Ken and I'm total Type A/worrier - but we've been married for 19 yrs and together for 23 so something's workin' :)

  21. I notice that you have about 5 times as much closet space as Ken. Only constant vigilance keeps our closet space at 50/50. and that's only drawer and rack space. The walls are all hers. I notice in the after photo that there is still a great deal of shoe fraternization happening. Not that anything is wrong with that.

I am the easy one to live with in our relationship. Relaxed, even tempered. Dealing with things in a logical, process driven way. All of which, of course, makes my wife insane.

  22. I wish I had a closet as big as yours :) Although I have to admit, my husband has more clothes than me !!

  23. I am BEYOND annoying to be married to. It is never ending and then when I want it to end it had better end or I will annoy you to death to end it.

As for PENIS of course I laughed.

Had a history teacher with the worst penmanship back in the 8th grade. He once wrote:

The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword

on the chalkboard and I don't think I ever stopped laughing and see till this day I still talk about it.

  24. Would you please come over and clean my closet!!?!!!??? I usually am type A but since we got back, life's been a whirlwind and I am way behind in life.

VERY excited for you this weekend - yayayayayaaaaa!!!!!

  25. My husband, who is also named Ken, is easier to live with than me. I also am a worrier and a control freak, and he is laid back. However he snores and I don't, so I win.

  26. OMG! It's the PENIS game :) During my husband's freshman year in college, his friends and him would go into the cafeteria during dinner time and take turns around their table saying "Penis"...each time each guy would get a little louder...until you just had guys randomly shouting out penis in the middle of this giant hall filled with hundreds of people. Ahhhh...the memories :)

  27. Nice job with the re-org, girl! Very well done.

  28. I guess I am context specific type-A. There is no me controlled space in my house that ever looks that remotely organized.

  29. Do i hog the closet? My husband's clothes are in the coat closet and his shoes are in the garage. Does that tell ya anything!? ha ha!! He's a sweetie...

  30. I have less than three feet of hanging space in the closet. Luckily I have about that many clothes

  31. this is O/T : Are there any rentals around where you live? Moving back soon ( lived in CO for 33 years.) Had to come back to NY for awhile-long story.
Anyway back on topic- I have the 2nd bedroom 2 closets and my husband has 1 smaller one. I definitley am like you Type A- I can be a bitch to live with, but also am lots of fun!!

  32. I too am a closet hog....we have a huge walk in closet and he gets about 1/4 of it and i have the rest. I blame it on we have to have purses and shoes in there too. LOL
I'm pretty easy to get along with BUT i can be a bit dramatic...type A person but do like to have fun and laugh also.
Enjoy your taper time and your honey-do list

  33. I would actually like to know what my husband thinks about living with me. I hate clutter/messiness so I am always barking at my family to take care of their own crap. I go on rants about it. I am emotional and driven and have a lot of energy. I'm sure it can be annoying but wtf, I am who I am. But I don't fart.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think I'm easier to live with as long as you know when to back the f* off. I don't *need* anything except space when I feel like crap. I'm the caregiver. The housekeeper. The money manager. The, yeah, you get it. He brings home the money and mows the lawn. Come on!!!

  35. My hubby gets most of the closet, but I change out stuff depending on the seasons. In eastern WA there are two: 1. Cold and windy. 2. Bitter- smuggling-raisins-cold and windy.

Thank goodness my hubs is laid back, b/c I can be a tight ass at times!

Nice use of taper energy!!! Looks good!

  36. Yes, I hog the closet, the dressers and the bathroom.
