Currently...

I've been thinking about blog prompts. You know where you list certain things about your self or your day or your life.

This one is called "Currently..." I like to read these when other people do them because it gives a look into their life beyond the subject of their blog. I love hearing what people are reading and cooking, what makes them tick, their most embarrassing moments (although I think I have the best one of all time, which involves blowing up my boyfriend's grandparent's toilet), when they last farted, etc. etc.

So, here's my Currently....

Time and Place: 9:51 a.m. on Thursday. Sitting on my ass in my PJs at my desk drinking coffee and working. The view is spectacular.

Cooking: I'm about to put meatless lasagna in the crock pot. Recipe HERE.

Awaiting: My chapter in a new book about pregnancy coming out soon. You're going to love it. Anytime I can talk/write about vaginas is a good day.

Experiencing: Deep hunger for a chocolate chip cookie. Or this - Chocolate Chip Cookies and Milk Cake:

Working on: Signing up for the Leadville Marathon as part of my training for the TransRockies Run. Who will join me? Who is a masochist? Who loves crying in pain and despair when they run? Hell, it's only 6,333 feet of climbing. Don't be a pussy your whole life.

Reading: Fates and Furies.

Not super far into it. Also on my list: City of Thorns, Fast Girl, A Little Life, Living with a Seal and Find a Way (Diana Nyad).

Listening to: Heidi lapping up water. The occasional sound of my own farts. Hoping to tune into the new Serial podcast soon.

Craving: Running in shorts and no sleeves. The good old days:

Hating: Not running in shorts. Ice on my roads. Frozen snot. My ass-icle that won't thaw out until May.

Loving: Following AwkwardFamilyPhotos on Instagram. It seriously never gets old:

Anticipating: Vegas. Ken and are heading there in 9 days to celebrate his 50th birthday. Yes I am married to a 50 year old man. He is such a cradle robber. I mean I am only 48.9 years old. I could practically be his daughter.

TBT to 4 years ago in Sin City.
Watching: Nurse Jackie. I have successfully binge watched the show on Netflix over the past 2 weeks. Ken has been a Nurse Jackie widow. I finished last night. Oh good Lord. I will miss you Jackie. And I hope I never become a prescription drug addict. It is a tough life.

Promoting: Blue Apron on the blog next week.Again.What can I say? It's a great service.

Avoiding: Negativity. Like the plague.

  1. Just read "Fast Girl." All I can say is WTF?
Binge watched: "Making A Murderer" - along with the rest of the country. Again I say, WTF?
    Looking forward to warmer weather.
Love your blog. You're truly an inspiration and a badass. Thanks for keeping me motivated.

    1. read Fast Girl and got pissed. Confused why everyone else calls her brave for telling this story when she really spends the entire book making horrible choices, saying she's making horrible choices, makes more, and then says there is nothing wrong with any of them.

    2. I read that too. Didn't care for it either.

  2. Currently reading Whistling Past The Graveyard. Binge watched Outlander. Hoping to register for the Marine Corp 17.75 for the garanteed entranced into the Marine Corp marathon. Thanks for the giggles!

  4. Currently reading the fine print on apartment rentals in Honolulu. Looks like we'll be spending another year here on the island. #FWP

Need to find some island races to participate in and get crushed by all the speedsters here. The HURT 100 trail race was last Saturday, so if you need a destination race for next January... no snow, I promise!

  5. Just finished Fates and Furies. I almost gave up on it until I got to the Furies part. Holy moley. Now reading the Lake House. After that, It Was Me All Along. Which you recommended a while ago and is going to be my blog's book of the month for February. Care to join us?

  6. Hi Beth, it's been awhile. You're funny, and your blog cheers me up. I'm currently reading H is for Hawk, binge watching The Americans, and I haven't signed up for any races because my Achilles tendon doesn't want me to be happy. Good luck with your winter training. I feel your pain...it dropped to about 50 here this morning and I had to wear a hat, gloves and tights (just kidding, I always wear tights).

  7. I'm a nerd so I am reading "The Science of Running"
We binge watched the entire season of "Jessica Jones" in like 2.5 days... Is that excessive?
I'm running 12 marathons in 2016 and I'm all booked except for August... any suggestions?

  8. Let's see... 12 hour endurance event in March (on a one mile loop), Spartan super race at Fort Carson in May and drum roll please.... Pikes Peak Marathon! This is what happens when you move to Colorado... Not enough oxygen makes you pay for crazy torture called "races" .

  9. Finished Diana Nyad last nite... Awesome! Currently binging on walking dead... Haven't slept in a month. Registered for the Ottawa Marathon in May. Hoping no zombies... But training for worlds in long course tri. Hoping zombies. Wanna go faster at world's...

  11. Reading Leah Remini's 'Troublemaker,' last show I binge watched... 'Game of Thrones' and all the Real Housewives, since Bravo loves to give me a marathon just about every Saturday and I will be signing up for The Smithtown Mile. 'Nurse Jackie' was fantastic as was 'The Big C.'

  12. Tried Fates and Furies but couldn't get into it. Last binge-watched show was Grace and Frankie.

  13. No cake but last book I read was "The Lake House" and am currently reading "Once on a Moonless Night" by Dai Sijie. Or at least it's my next step. I just picked it up. Binge watching...Gilmore Girls. Yep. Because it's already on television and I don't have to do anything but turn it on and walk away. I am not running Leadville again as it was more pain than joy and I just don't wanna. But maybe another year. I'm not totally against it. I was wayyyyy slower than you. I love your shoes in that cute #TBT photo. My husband is also a cradle robber having just turned 49 and I do in June. That six months makes ALL the difference...

  14. I really want to read Fates and Furies and watch Nurse Jackie. I think you just prevented me from doing anything productive this weekend. I just finished Making a Murderer on Netflix, and am reading Straight Man by Richard Russo, it's about a 7/10.

  15. Binged watched, and mourning the loss of Grace & Frankie, and eagerly waiting the return of NJ. Reading the oldest mystery novel, "The Moonstone" for book club. And seriously envious of your upcoming Vegas trip, even though I really have no desire for Vegas itself, but with snowmageddon2.0 bearing down, I like fantasizing about shorts weather!

  16. Currently reading: I Promise Not to Suffer
Binge Watching: Last Man Standing and Dog, the Bounty Hunter(I know, I know... I watch it for the sights in Hawaii)

  17. Super-intrigued by your slow cooker recipe. I've seen several pasta slow cooker recipes that sound amazing and yet I wonder how they keep the pasta from becoming mush! Do these noodles come out ok? Any other good pasta slow cooker recipes?

    1. This turned out great. Noodles held up well. You use the no-boil noodles. I'll post some other slow cooker pasta dishes soon. I have a chicken/spinach lasagna that is good too.

  18. Read Fates & Furies last month, I loved it. Don't give up if up if you don't love the first half. It's an interesting story. Now reading Born with Teeth by Kate Mulgrew then Secrets of a Charmed Life by Susan Meissner. Don't watch TV, except occasional news and whatever my kids are watching. Signed up for Pittsburgh Half Marathon in May, but nothing else. Just skiing (spinning and yoga) for now!

  19. This is a cool meme/blog prompt! I may do this one day, but unfortunately not now. Ain't got no time for that. That being said....

What are you reading now? "the life-changing magic of tidying up". Honestly I could use any of it...the magic, the tidying up, etc.

Last show you binge watched? Sword Art Online season 2. It's an anime. Yes, I like them. Well, only some of them.

What race are you signing up for next? My hubby signed me up for 5 Peaks trail racing series, so I think I better not sign up for anything else!

  28. My life became devastated when my husband sent me packing, after 8 years that we have been together. I was lost and helpless after trying so many ways to make my husband take me back. One day at work, i was absent minded not knowing that my boss was calling me, so he sat and asked me what its was all about i told him and he smiled and said that it was not a problem. I never understand what he meant by it wasn't a problem getting my husband back, he said he used a spell to get his wife back when she left him for another man and now they are together till date and at first i was shocked hearing such thing from my boss. He gave me an email address of the great spell caster who helped him get his wife back, i never believed this would work but i had no choice that to get in contact with the spell caster which i did, and he requested for my information and that of my husband to enable him cast the spell and i sent him the details, but after two days, my mom called me that my husband came pleading that he wants me back, i never believed it because it was just like a dream and i had to rush down to my mothers place and to my greatest surprise, my husband was kneeling before me pleading for forgiveness that he wants me and the kid back home, then i gave Happy a call regarding sudden change of my husband and he made it clear to me that my husband will love me till the end of the world, that he will never leave my sight. Now me and my husband is back together again and has started doing pleasant things he hasn't done before, he makes me happy and do what he is suppose to do as a man without nagging. Please if you need help of any kind, kindly contact Happy for help and you can reach him via email: happylovespell2@gmail.com

  29. How to Get Your Ex Back After a Breakup or Divorce.! Am giving this testimony cos am so happy, I want to thank Dr Frank Ojo for the great thing he has done in my life , he brought happiness to my life .! A very big problem occurred in my Marriage seven months ago, between me and my husband .so terrible that he took the case to court for a divorce. he said that he never wanted to stay with me again, and that he didn't love me anymore. So he packed out of the house and made me and my children passed through severe pain. I tried all my possible means to get him back, after much begging, but all to no avail.and he confirmed it that he has made his decision, and he never wanted to see me again. So on one evening,as i was coming back from work,i met an old friend of mine who asked of my husband .So i explained every thing to him,so he told me that the only way i can get my husband back,is to visit a spell caster, because it has really worked for him too.So i never believed in spell, but i had no other choice, than to follow his advice. Then he gave me the email address of the spell caster whom he visited. TEMPLEOFLOVEANDPROSPERITY@GMAIL.COM. So the next morning,i sent a mail to the address he gave to me,and the spell caster assured me that i will get my husband back the next day. What an amazing statement!! I never believed,so he spoke with me, and told me everything that i need to do. Then the next morning, So surprisingly, my husband who didn't call me for the past 7 months, gave me a call to inform me that he was coming back. So Amazing!! So that was how he came back that same day, with lots of love and joy,and he apologized for his mistake, and for the pain he caused me and my children. Then from that day,our relationship was now stronger than how it were before,by the help of a spell caster. So, i will advice you out there if you have any problem contact Dr Frank Ojo, i give you 100% guarantee that he will help you.. Email Him @ Templeofloveandprosperity@gmail.com .
