Missing

I am sick over this.. Sherry - a friend, family member, wife, mother and teacher -went out for a run early yesterday morning in the small town of Sidney, Montana and never came home. I have known Sherry since we were ten years old. She is the niece of my Uncle Gary and Aunt Lizzy.

Our family went to visit Sherry at her family’s ranch in Montana three years ago. Sherry is a high school math teacher and mother to two children. She is beloved in her small, tight knit community.

In our later years, Sherry and I bonded about running and while we did not see each other often, she is one of those people who exudes kindness, generosity and genuineness.

Her shoe was found yesterday (more info HERE).

Hundreds of people are searching for her. The National Guard has been called in.

Please say a prayer and/or send a good thought to Sherry and her family. Please pray/wish that she is okay and that she is not suffering. Please pray/wish for her safe return.

Certainly if you have any info or tips, contact authorities at 406-433-2210.

Be careful out there,

SUAR

  14. I am from Billings, MT. I live in Denver now. I have a few friends in Sidney. My former National Guard husband and I would gladly join the search if we could be there but because we cannot I will keep her in my prayers and I will ask my MT family to include her also.

  21. Hearing stories like this is heartbreaking. So many people run as a way to unwind, clear their heads or just find some 'me' time. You would think this to be a good thing in our society, a way to recharge our mind and bodies, but so many runnners fall victim to accidents by careless drivers and even preyed apon by violent predators simply because they were out there. As a large guy I often don't think about the risk, buty I think all of us, men, women and children should be able to feel safe enough to go out and run with friends or even alone. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family, hoping she safely finds her way back home.
