He Should Have Come to My Door

I think Sam makes a great Dwight K. Schrute from The Office:

And, then there’s his side-kick, iPod Touch:

Ready to head out (but not together, of course):

Sam and his posse:

Jim, Dwight & Andy (Yes, my son is short. Or his friends are giants):

Emma and her crew:

M&M, iPod & TV:

Meanwhile, my best friend and confidant, Dean Karnazes, dressed as Phidippides (first marathoner) for the 2,500 anniversary of the marathon. He had told me he was going to do this when he and I ran together (name dropping). He said that he would honor the anniversary by dressing up and eating what Phidippides would have eaten (fruits, nuts, berries), and no doubt pooping them out (he didn’t say this, but I thought it).  I wish he would’ve come trick or treating at my door. Goodness. I am speechless. Those legs. Seriously.:

In case you were wondering, I dressed as a depressed runner with a hip stress fracture who eats a lot of candy, drinks a lot of wine and sulks (unpictured).

Pouting,

SUAR

  2. Love the Dwight costume. Good stuff.

Your boy Dean looks like he's been eating too much candy. Body fat creeping up to .02%. Slacker.

Copied parts of your costume this year ... the candy and the booze. Sorry I didn't give you credit.

  5. omg i love that your son and his friends went as "a set" (or whatever i should call it) AND i'm happy to see that your daughter and her friends aren't into the really skimpy costumes. it restores my faith in the parenting of today :)

  8. Oh my gosh - he does make a GREAT Dwight! And it is even better that he and his friends went as a theme. I bet people loved them.

I also think Emma's iPod touch is adorable . . . . As long as there was no touching going on. !!!!!

I just finished off a bottle of Murphy-Goode chardonnay last evening while attending to the trick-or-treaters. I had opened it the night before . . . . I think I drank that bottle a little too quickly. And I had my Witches hat on!

  15. Cute costumes - and very cool that you got to run with Dean!

I decided recently that for my next marathon, I'm going to upload Ultramarathon Man to my ipod shuffle to listed to out on the course. Better motivation than any music.

  16. Dear Baby Jesus,
Please let me one day have a family as cool as Beth's. Oh, and please don't let my children be lazy and dumb. Beth's children are cool and not lazy and not dumb. So if you make mine lazy and dumb, I will resent Beth, and you.

    Amen

  28. Hey, you should've go as the coolest blogger around who's not afraid of anything - inspires her friends constantly, is funny, has piercing blue eyes, arm candy and toes so long they could be fingers. Oh - add in a great cook, mother, social worker and former 7-11 working black jack dealer who's biggest fan lives in Virginia.

  30. How can those 3 little guys look so much like dwight, andy and jim? I LOVE it. They did such a good job. (Dwight- by far the best, he has the expression down perfectly!!)

    ReplyDelete
  31. He makes an adorable dwight! He should have worn the GIANT name tag that Jim made him because he was a "security threat" that said Dwight Fart Schrute. LOL! (I watch too much of The Office, I know."

I played a bitter old hag on halloween, we didn't have any trick or treaters, though.

Thanks for the pic of Dean. That made my day better.
