Zensah Running Bra Review + Giveaway

(Sung to the tune of “Beans, Beans, the Magical Fruit)

Bras, bras, they hold the girls tight
The more you wear one, the more you feel right
The more you feel right, the better you run
So wear your sport’s bra and tame the melon(s)!

I just made that up in case you think it was a Grammy winning song or something.

Zensah, makers of compression gear, sent me their Zensah Running Bra to review. I requested the black one in small/medium (sizes run small/medium or medium/large).

P1100076

You can’t tell from the picture, but the center back is a flexible mesh-like material. (Yes, I wear all of those necklaces).

P1100078

The bra itself is softer and stretchier than some other brands I have tried. I like my bras tight, so sometimes they can be a bitch to get on. This one goes on easy and holds my mini melons (clementines?) in place. Other bonuses:

  • Antibacterial (in case you emit a lot of bacteria while running)
  • Seamless design to prevent chafing (I do not chafe, but if this is an issue for you, this might be a good choice).
  • Moisture wicking

I’ve worn this twice now. Once on a seven mile run and once to a spin class. I give the bra an A+ for comfort and breathability (moisture wicking fabric). I think it looks good too. I am not a well-endowed girl, so I cannot speak to how well this bra contains those possessing bigger breasts and cleavage. I don’t even know what cleavage is.

The bra comes in 10 sassy colors (including neon pink!) and the cost is $35.99 plus shipping.

The only drawback I could find to this bra is the price. Yes, you could find a cheaper one other there. But, I pay upwards of $40 a shot for my Vicky’s Secret everyday bras, so why wouldn’t I invest in a good running bra as well? My experience is that when it comes to bras, you do get what you pay for. If this one lasts a long time and holds its shape, $35.99 seems like a good deal.

I do take issue, however, with the shipping costs, which is $9.98 (UPS Ground). That is the cheapest option available (unless I missed something?). I think this is really overpriced to ship a damn bra. IMHO.

Want to win a Zensah Running Bra? Your choice of color and size. To enter this giveaway, simply:

  • “Like” Zensah on FB (mandatory entry) +1
  • Tell me why you need a new running bra.  Big, out of control boobs? Sick of using duct tape? Can’t afford a good quality one? +1
  • Become a follower of this here blog if you are not already +1
  • Facebook, twat or write about this giveaway on your blog +1

I will pick a random winner on Monday, June 20. Please do not tell them I sent you on FB. Apparently, this clutters their wall too much.

Good luck!

SUAR

Zensah provided the bra for review and the giveaway item. I paid nothing for them.

  1. I need this because I am a complete sports bra snob. Right now I only wear Moving Comfort. I have some cheap ones, but I refuse to run in them, even if it means doing laundry like crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I need a new sports bra! I'm 27 and have five kids (6 yrs, 5 yrs, 3 yrs, 2 yrs, and 7 months old). After nursing all of them, I have the melons of an 80-year-old woman and always have to wear 2 sports bras when running. Help me!

    ReplyDelete
  25. So I need this because right now I only have 1 sports bra that kinda works for me....I am interested to see if I can manage to get into and out of this Zensah bra without assistance ...LOL!!

  28. Of course I already follow you!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I need a new running bra because all of mine were purchased when I started running three years ago. They are getting a little light on the support and getting harder to get that smell out. Yuck!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm a blog follower and I NEED a new sports bra in hopes that it will help me run faster!! It will, right????

    ReplyDelete
  31. Obviously, I don't need this, but my wife sure does. :) She is always on the search for the better (best) running bra. I think this just might be it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Jesus Christ, If I don't win this one, life is just wrong! I had BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY because my girls were gargantuan! I had 2.3 pounds of breast tissue removed. Post surgery I ran 2 marathons, 4 halfs, many 10k's and lots more to come. I WOULD NEVER be RUNNING like this and could never wear this cool bra without it. I love my scarred girls now and want to put them inside this little hammock like not other. Make me win! I will like, twat, and massage my boobs constantly until I win. Here I go...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Sharing your post on facebook :) I am sure I know some peeps that need a good ta-ta holder!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I can always use a new bra. Even though my boobs are almost non-existant.

    I follow you already.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I don't have much to hold in either, but I'm picky about bras and would love to find a comfortable one!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Liked them on FB, said from SUAR!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I liked Zensah on FB and told them I was sent by you

    ReplyDelete
  38. I like them on FB, wrote about your giveaway on Fb..and you're gonna love this.

I got implants 10 years ago. The dear dear Dr. felt that I needed D'S....I'm 5"3 115lbs!! I had them redone 7yrs later and am now a small C. A year after having them redone I decide that I am a runner!! Well doesn't that freaking figure!!! Now that I've got a good sturdy set I've got um bouncing around. We could use some support around these parts!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. My current sports bras are decent (from Target), but one that wicks would be GREAT for the summer. I seriouly overheat above 50 degrees!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I need a new sports bra and because that mesh design on the back sounds perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I need a new one!! The bands on the bottom never fit right and they always slide up.. sigh. I need more boobage.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I liked them on fb and told them you sent me!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I do like the looks of this bra but the only jog bras I like are Fruit of the Loom cotton bras I get at Walmart for $9 a 3-pack. I actually have a little superstition about them...I only wear the heather blue one for races. You'd think after a few crappy races I would have retired it, but no...I always reach for the blue bra!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I need a new bra because I'm cheap? I really need a new bra but can't justify spending any money on something to hold my almonds in? (You said you had clementines, but, I am smaller!).

    ReplyDelete
  45. You're the second person I've read who had good things to say about these bras so why not try one out! I normally wear the $16.99 Target ones. Never tried a fancy sports bra.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I need one of these because I am tried of cheep sports bras that don't do the job... but expensive ones are often not comfortable! Would LOVE to find the best of both worlds... and FREE helps too! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm all about keeping the Ta-Tas happy and if this bra is as good as you say then bring it on! Liked it on FB! And can't wait to get one of your SUAR shirts!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. OMG I need a new running blog so bad it is not even funny. I've lost 40+ lbs since last August, and my boobs are a completely different size, but instead of getting a good new one that actually fits, I have been wearing 2 (or 3!!) of the cheap ones I got at Target when still over weight. Not only does it not work that well, it makes me look crazy. Hope I win!

    ReplyDelete
  49. If you read my blog, you'll know I definitely can't afford a good quality bra! Plus, it's my birthday the week of the winner announcement :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. I have had the same crappy Champion bras for a few years now (just realized this...) and I've been doubling up on them to get that tight feeling....

    ReplyDelete
  51. Already follow via Google Reader

    ReplyDelete
  52. I just bought a new one but I would love one in a light blue to match the lovely bike shorts my husband recently got me for my b-day. The rest of mine are between 5 and 20 years old and need to go. Sports bras have improved greatly in the past few years!

    ReplyDelete
  53. i need a new bra because marathon training starts next weekend and i don't want to invest in new bras for this adventure. my old bras pre-baby bearing are worn out and a tad too tight.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Liked them, and said you sent me!

    I also follow the blog.

I need a new running bra bad right now. I'm going from slogging along for 5k's to training for a half-marathon, and I'm 170#. My moderate support Target sports bras aren't cutting it any more, and the bras I use for yoga leave me running with my arms crossed after two miles!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm in need of a new bra because we're trying to save for a house and we're dirt broke!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I like them and let them know :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. I need a new one because I buy cheap ones that are in my budget!

  59. I so need to win this bra! After losing a lot of weight my girls are pretty saggy and training for a marathon has left me with "orangutan" tt's!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I need a new bra for my post 2 babies, over 40, hanging low melons. One that breathes and doesn't chafe.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I need a new running bra because I've lost some weight and my favorite one is now too big! :-(

    ReplyDelete
  62. i would use the bra running, and i need it because it would be nice to try out an expensive bra and see the difference, with my new college budget i dont get the luxury to buy new running clothing every month any more. :p

    ReplyDelete
  63. I only have C9 from Target running bra's. $$$ is tight. I'd love a 'custom' running bra.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I follow you....LOVE your blog! I also "liked" on Facebook....and I need a new running bra because running is helping me lose weight and my other two bras are getting looser than I like!

    ReplyDelete
  65. I liked them on fb, and it's good to hear the bra worked well for you - I'm also uh, not-so-well-endowed and have a hard time finding sports bras that don't just mountain climb the whole time I'm running. :( Would love to win this one!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I can't find a bra that I really like!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I follow your blog, loyal reader here :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. I need a new sportsbra because I'm in college. Therefore all of mine come from Wal-Mart and I have never experienced a nice moisture-wicking one

    ReplyDelete
  69. I need a new sports bra because I keep running out of sports bras before it's time to do laundry....

    ReplyDelete
  70. I liked em on FB and told them I came from here!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Sports bras are so expensive! I have some Brooks ones that I love but on longer runs they rub my skin raw right where my cleavage would be if I had any.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I need a new bra because I'm still rocking my $15.99 Target brand wonders, which, while comfortable, are not exactly made to last. Not that I really need one anyway, but still.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I liked them on facebook and let them know you sent me

    ReplyDelete
  74. I am living on a Walmart and Target budget so I don't own a good sports bra...just a bunch of bargains...

    ReplyDelete
  75. I think they saw that pic of you from the other day and thought…"hey! A runner chick with boobs! Let's get a chick with boobs to review and give this puppy away!" Alack and alas, they were duped :P Everyone the are getting to review this is small :( I can tell that thing won't work for me so I won't diminish the chances of others by entering. But what I wanna know is…what awesome bra were you wearing in the pic the other day? (Pretty sure it was the post about the fart lie) It looked great and I want to see if they have it in my size!

    ReplyDelete
  76. My girls need ALL the support they can get!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Interesting that they gave you one to giveaway yet they wouldn't give me one to giveaway, only review. But I'm not SUAR!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. Oh, the many reasons I need a new bra! I'm going with the obvious... I run and I need to hold my girls in place. Sizing is an issue for me right now as I just lost 20 lbs but I am getting fit soon and I would wear this Zensah bra well!!!

I look forward to following your blog!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Why? That is easy! I am "blessed" in that department and the bras I found to prevent me from getting a black eye are now leaving marks! I get boo-boo between my boobies and I the one I have with a back do-up thingy rubs my back raw :(

    ReplyDelete
  80. I told them Beth told me to Shut Up and Like Zensah on FB so I could win a green sports bra for my out of control tatas.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Follower of this blog? Of course! I love reading your blog!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I will add it to my blog - that is easy!

    ReplyDelete
  84. I would LOVE a new bra - and would love to review this for the running store I work at because I'm not a huge fan of the bras we carry right now.

    ReplyDelete
  93. This is why I need this new bra - I live in Houston, it is VERY hot and humid here right now. Yesterday I went for a 5 mile run and when I came home my entire top was two shades darker then the original color from sweat, EXCEPT for two round spots over my nips! WTH is that? It looked like I was wearing pasties on my top. Hopefully this wonderful bra will prevent that from happening!!!

    ReplyDelete
  94. I need a new running bra because I only have one really good one that does the job well, can't afford a new one, and it is hard to get your workouts in with only one stinky sports bra!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Liked on FB,following your blog, let friends know about it all on FB but mostly...I need a good, reasonably priced bra that keeps my bazooms secure without breaking the bank!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Ahhh I absolutely need a new sports bra. I think the last time I purchased a sports bra was like 8 years ago and let's just say the ladies have grown since then. That, and fabric stretches out. I keep rewearing my only two good ones every other day. It's getting desperate...

    ReplyDelete
  97. Agreed on shipping cost. Yikes! I haven't tried a Zansah bra but I do own sleeves and a shirt and the material is sooo nice.

    I like Zensah on FB!

    ReplyDelete
  98. I need a new bra b/c my boobs are SHRINKING!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Liked Zansah on FB and I love my compression sleeves from them. I am cheap, cheap, cheap. I wear Moving Comfort sports bras for running which are close to three years old. On non-running days for spin or working with my coach, I wear 2 cheap 9purchased from Target) sports bras. I have big girls and they need lots of protection.

I also enjoy reading your blog. We do a lot of 'breaking wind' in my house!

    ReplyDelete
  100. I liked 'em on FB.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Also I need another sports bra because (have some free humiliation!) I was running in one of those tanks with the built-in bras (which I do after I've worn the two actual sports bras I have) and someone going the other direction said something along the lines of, "Why aren't you wearing a bra?"

    I, um.

    ReplyDelete
  102. And of course I'm a follower.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I need a new bra, because after I had my baby the boobies shrunk...like a lot. Need something that fits a little more snug-ly!

  110. After 7 years of marathoning, I have yet to find a sports bra that locks my girls up tight enough that doesn't also chafe....I've spent a fortune trying out different kinds.

    ReplyDelete
  111. If you like the seamless bras and you're looking for a good value. I just bought on my own and reviewed a Danskin Now bra set from Walmart. 2 bras for 9.94. 97 cent shipping if they aren't in the store! Usually you do get what you pay for, but these are amazing IMO. Perfect for at the gym or around the house or walking..but I also enjoyed it while running and biking. Sorry just had to share since it was on my mind...I'm not paid by them at all!

    ReplyDelete
