Poop ETA = 11:32 a.m.

It is real. It is happening. I’ve got the numbers.

Boulder Ironman 70.3 in 10 days- August 7, 2011

1. Bib #304 (My dad’s birthday – 3/04 - which can only mean one thing – I will race like a 72 year old man with a knee replacement).

P1100573

2. Wave #4 (I will be joined by all the kick ass women in Boulder between the ages of 40 and 50. I’m hoping they cut their nails, don’t steal my nose plugs and arm floaties, don’t swim right over me and are polite).

3. Start time 6:45 a.m. (this means my ETA for taking a crap during the run is about 11:32 a.m. if you want to mark your calendars. I should be finished with this mother by 1:00 p.m if anyone wants to hang out and go for a run afterwards).

  2. Beth, The training you have been doing is awesome. You gave me some great first time marathon advice: 'You have done the training, now enjoy the 'ride'. Ditto back to ya! You have this thing!! Just may have to ride my bike over to the Res. and enjoy your triumph! Good Luck!!

  7. The title of this blog along with the picture of your dad with the thumbs up in my blogger preview is CRACKING ME UP! It's like he approves of the 11:32 pooper.

GOOD LUCK, kick some booty and don't prematurely poo in your wetsuit!

  9. I swear this is the longest blogger build-up to a race...ever. Of course I'm sure I'll be thinking about nothing but my race as it approaches too.

Love the cartoon...might have to order that shirt!

  13. Love the drawing. Too funny.
Gotta believe the poop will never happen since you'll be too involved in the triathlon to worry about it. When 1pm hits (Finish time), so will the urge to crap.

  18. Mark, you are so right. I tend to drag things out. I'll try to shut up for a bit now before the race.

  20. Magnesium supplements might help you get the runway cleared before you start. I can let you know about this if you want :)

But just think of the post opportunities inherent in a mid-race crapsplosion ;-)

  21. I really wanted to mark my calendar but had all sorts of brain explosions trying to work out the time difference.

  22. I seriously read that sentence and thought you were saying that it would take until 1:00 pm to be done POOPING, not the race.

It just seems like something you might write.

  27. LOVE the comic strip! And my dad has glasses like that except they're wire frames. Actually, the shades clip onto the bridge and THEN flip up. O_O
